THE PEPPERMILL

Case Study from Tempe, Arizona

About The Peppermill.

Tempe is home to the East Valley’s newest independent steakhouse, and it’s owned by a local chef with an impressive pedigree. Chad Bolar’s resume includes stints at Christopher’s Crush, Wrigley Mansion, Meridiem Kitchen and Lounge, and Pesto’s. Now he’s striking out on his own with a new venture called The Peppermill, which describes itself as “a modern-day steakhouse with French and Asian influences that features “classic steakhouse dishes and not-so-classic inspirational entrees.”
Our story, though, has been a long and arduous road! It was one that has had many bumps and turns, but we are finally here. The true inspiration comes from our Pit Chef and Owner, Chad Bolar. Through a long process of finding the perfect location, to construction, to permitting, Chef Bolar has given rise to one of the finest steakhouses in the Southwest region.
His culinary mastery speaks a great deal to the dishes presented, as well as the ambiance of the restaurant. He is not only a gifted chef, but he is also one of the finest leaders in the food industry. Those that have had the privilege of working under his tutelage are forever better, for his knowledge and giving personality truly shine through the employees.
Mikey Alesi is our Sous Chef, starting with the Peppermill family since our very beginning, coming from a culinary background and always ensures creativity and uniqueness in new dishes every day.

The Job

The Peppermill Steakhouse just opened. They needed to market their restaurant in a big way. There was no website, social media, or any marketing in place. In order to popularize their immense talent, they reached out to Driving Cap. The Peppermill wanted to have a professional and responsive website to promote sales and excite new customers, while at the same time having the ability to manage the analytical side of their site. This was very important because their goals were to be the best local restaurant, sourcing all of their products from local farms and ranches. With these goals in mind, Driving Cap hit the ground running!

The Results

Driving Cap’s main goal was to help start, and continue to drive, traffic to The Peppermill. Our marketing resources launched their digital mark on the world. One significant part surrounded our abilities to measure and track their site’s overall metrics, including locations of users, page durations, and perhaps most importantly the number of visitors to the website overall. During the initial consultation, The Peppermill owners gave amazing insight as to the overall feel of the restaurant, and we wanted to ensure that vision carried over successfully to the website. This is a very crucial stage of the process, as our website developers love to have as much feedback as possible before beginning construction. Content development, including copywriting, was done during the website’s building process, so content added to the website was appropriate and helped reach timeline goals for the build. Simultaneously, our SEO Gurus developed keywords and imagery to boost the performance of the site on all search engines. The end result has become a great marketing tool for The Peppermill, and with our system, they continue to thrive in the American Southwest.
